Happy new Year everyone!

I'm slowly oh so slowly getting my feet under me again so that's neat. Next week I'm on vacation on my couch so I hope to post a few New Year's Eve pics.

That said I'm really only on cause I may have found a roundabout way to do drafts on Dreamwidth. It's probably nothing new to anyone else but it was for me. :') I made a super private community just for me, myself and I where I just word-vomit stuff and pretty it up later (like insert links and pics and stuff). When you pretty up the post over there you can really easily copy'n'paste the HTML from the community to your blog. That way you can sort of do posts early and pick'n'chose what to post at a later date.

I'll have time tomorrow to catch up on comments and the reading page woooo, but till then I just found out that you can use Dropbox for image hosting which I find pretty neat. No idea how far it goes or if there are dangers, but here it is anyway.

When you share a pic you have to generate a link via dropbox. That link looks like this (of course you need to enable that anyone can view that link):

Now all you need to do is change that "?dl=0" to "?raw=1" and you can embed it the same as any other link to a pic. I just tried it on AO3 and on here and it worked.

The last days have been a bunch of stress and the next days will continue in a similar manner (though with nicer people for the most part). I'll try to get to my inbox and catching up on the reading page. New posts, aka Nipple Appreciation, and stuff will have to wait at least until thursday or friday. ;-; I'm so tired and it's killed my writing hype which I'd been nursing the last days (well obviously, since a writing flow can't just happen in non-busy times, that would be too easy!).

Also can anyone tell me what the frick "women's (video) games" are? I got the question on the weekend as I told a relative I've know for 28 goddamn years what I'm currently gamong and he honest to god asked if it was a woman's game. I was so baffled. (That said, my joy at getting the protagonist's shirt unbuttoned at the collar and the way you care for your horse in the game does speak for a game well suited for women ;P)

Two pieces of fanart that I did for the Warframes Excalibur and Mag from the game with the same name. The game is multiplayer and decent to play, though my internet connection is much too bad. Fortunately you can play it all on your own and customize your frames. I love their design.

On another note, I traced part of my outlines for the longest time. These two pieces were created not too long after I decided to kind of start over and not try to take any shortcuts when it came to art. Well, of course I used references, but NO TRACING. \o/ I learned a lot, but it also limited too much in the long run. Drawing's going to be a pretty long road (plus my ideas are much too big for my limited abilities)

I have lots upon lots of issues when it comes to drawing, so I was thinking and feeling more like drawing sort of shapes and step a couple of steps back from anything illustrative. This pic was doodled during the break of a show I visited. It's tiny and not good but exactly the kind of things I feel most like drawing.

I think I'll just jot down new ideas here. Currently at work and too lazy to get out my notebook.

Anyways, I love the game Red Dead Redemption and since the Drake brothers are criminals, too, it just kind of FITS! They can totally be outlaws in the old west, maybe they're better at adjusting to the new world, too. I don't know.

Either they could be part of a gang with Sully, Elena, Chloe, Nadine and Rafe and the numerous other characters. Or they go out on their own, just the two of them. They're already quite well-versed in working together. Hell, could even be that Sam was caught and supposely hanged or locked away and Nate breaks him out. I love canon-y AUs where certain things are still the way they are in canon, but in a different context so to speak.

Hmmm, Nate and Sam Drake, Outlaws. Fuck yeah

This week may be one of the busiest (?) I've had in a while. My cats are not and will continue not to be happy that I'll be coming home late every day. Lots and lots of family gatherings, birthdays and presents buying crammed into each day, with the exception of Friday and Sunday which are Schrödinger's Free Day right now cause I may meet friends or I may be not. My friend will let me know today what the plan is. So..... oooooommmmm paaaatience. PATIENCE!

Anyway, I spend yesterday buying gifts for Christmas and the assorted birthdays (got all of them now except one) and took a spontaneous trip into a museum to test my new camera.

The pictures turned out well and since there were a lot of classic sculptures with (stony) female- as well as male-presenting nipples (as well as one or two peens) I want to post some of them here in honor of Nipplegate.

Since I like the pictures, I want to make some icons, too, in honor of the icon culture of Dreamwidth which I've missed so much since my Livejournal days. :3

Sooo Pillowfort has clarified their "Policy on Explicit Artwork and Underage Characters" which keeps the definition of "underage" pretty damn vague and leaves it up to individual mods to decide if the art looks "too underage" so to speak. Art which shows characters looking like pre-pubescent is forbidden. Anything involving teenagers is less clear.

This has been a very typical idea process again. I'm at work (shhhh) and was sort of humming that song from the Anastasia movie to myself, "Once upon a december", which got me thinking about loving royalty AUs in fanfics, which made me think "hmm a gang of criminals has a hierarchy... and so does a monarchy!", which flowed (flew?) right into my current hard-on for the Red Dead Redemption game(s) and Dutch's gang.

So now I'm left with an idea, not even like for a whole long story but more of a 'verse with multiple oneshots shedding light on the different characters and ships which could exist in that setting and how they could "port over" from criminals to royalties (hey that's not necessarily opposites after all).

So... all the gangs in RDR2 are rulers of kingdoms. Dutch is king with Hosea being his advisor and Arthur the commander of his royal guard. John is perhaps his protege or heir cause Dutch doesn't have children of his own and John showed promise (but John is the worst prince possible). And so on and so forth. PLUS that could lead to one of my most favorite tropes in existence: royal person/their bodyguard HELL YES.

Colm O'Driscoll is king of another kingdom/country and the enemy of Dutch who once kidnaps his commander to put pressure on him and so on.

1. Basch/Balthier, Basch as Gabranth gets Balthier out of a prison where Balthier was held on false accusation and nurses him back to health

2. Basch/Balthier, smut where Balthier welcomes Basch back properly in the land of the living by riding him (and Basch is completely in awe and overwhelmed even if he doesn't much show it)

3. Basch/Balthier/Fran, Basch dreams about pulling Balthier and Fran into his bed and meanwhile they just wait for his cue

4. Basch/Balthier/Gabranth, Balthier is injured but is a bad patient, Fran is fed up with him and dumps him on Basch's doorstep

5. Basch/Balthier/Gabranth, Basch and Gabranth fuck each other using Balthier, so smuuuut

6. Basch/Balthier/Vossler, Balthier was in an accident that left him with scars, he's self-concious about it and since the others assumed him dead he never returned to them, alas they meet him on a marketplace and bring him back home (smut, really, magical healing sex that gives Balthier back some of his swagger)

7. Basch/Balthier/Vossler, smut where they all release the pressure together while on the road, among other things Basch watches Balthier and Vossler together and remembers a time where Vossler was a little more gentle (and then gentles him)

I've listed this idea for

badafthunter in the comment section of that WIP list but I thought it deserved it's own post. These ideas aren't something I'll work on soon, but it's kind of nice to see them listed and remind myself of how in love with the ideas I (still) am. <3
ALSO MY OTPs ARE PRETTY OBVIOUS.

1. Aerith/Cloud/Zack, dark AU where a pretty broken and dark Cloud for some reason travels back in time and kidnaps Aerith and Zack to keep them safe from harm. He locks them up and goes after Sephiroth and kills him, destroys Shera and all the time Aerith and Zack pity him but also want to escape.

2. Angeal/Cloud/Zack, some sort of fix-it time travel fic where Cloud dies by Loz's and his brothers' hands and wakes up in the past to a greying Angeal and somehow manages to heal him. Aerith melted with her past self and Zack complains a lot that he's been dreaming of Cloud.

3. Cloud/Zack, they go on a date during the timeline of Crisis Core. It's kinda a bad date, shit happens to them afterwards but they manage to survive and go on a real date after escaping the lab and getting to safety <3

4. Cloud/Zack, Zack lives through the events of Crisis Core again and again until he manages to save everyone, including himself (and Cloud)

5. Cloud/Zack (can you tell it's my favorite ship??), the moment Zack is surrounded on the cliff and about to die by the soldiers, an older Cloud appears and protects him. From then on he's stuck with this strange and matured Cloud Strife because the younger one disappeared.

6. Cloud/Zack, Zack is tasked to work in the science lab for Hojo for a while and meets a strange specimen which looks a lot like the little soldier grunt he's met.

7. Cloud/Zack, a mature Cloud Strife is made into a summon for Zack (semi-time travel). I read a ficlet once where that happened and wanted to expand on it

8. Cloud/Zack, smut where Cloud tops Zack from the bottom ;D

9. Cloud/Zack, another time-travel fix-it cause there can't be enough in which Zack travels into the future after his death and finds his peace with Cloud (and Cloud finds peace, too)

Writing is my passion. If I had the energy and no other hobbies or obligations I'd write 24/7. That hasn't always been the case, I mean writing has always been my passion, but because of ~issues I spend a lot of time just... not writing for years.

Since I like Advent Calendars I lot I wanted to take the chance to talk about the one my mom gave me this year. To anyone who doesn't know what an Advent Calendar is, it's something like this:

Usually it's filled with chocolate, but it can be filled with pretty much everything from small toys or things to pictures. It can take pretty much any shape, too, the most important thing is that it has 24 things for you to uncover.

These can be made yourself or bought in a store. Mine I get from my mom each year, because my mom is amazing like that. This time she asked if I wanted one at all and I really didn't, because I don't care much for chocolate but I told her that if they had something for cats or with socks in store I'd take that. Though I didn't really care if I had an advent calendar this year or not.

AND MY MOM WENT AND MADE ME ONE WITH SOCKS! :D It's not the prettiest but I love it.

It's so so much fun to open each little gift this time, especially since it's one sock per day and not a pair. I'm ridiculously happy once I get a pair and in fact I'm wearing my very first matching pair today.

The last two years I made digital fandom advent calendars on AO3 with simple fanart and short ficlets. Hopefully I can do those again in the coming years, because it's nice to see people enjoy them.
