Fanart: Warframe Excalibur and Mag
Dec. 13th, 2018 02:14 pmTwo pieces of fanart that I did for the Warframes Excalibur and Mag from the game with the same name. The game is multiplayer and decent to play, though my internet connection is much too bad. Fortunately you can play it all on your own and customize your frames. I love their design.
On another note, I traced part of my outlines for the longest time. These two pieces were created not too long after I decided to kind of start over and not try to take any shortcuts when it came to art. Well, of course I used references, but NO TRACING. \o/ I learned a lot, but it also limited too much in the long run. Drawing's going to be a pretty long road (plus my ideas are much too big for my limited abilities)

Date: 2018-12-13 01:25 pm (UTC)the top sketch reads really clearly and i like the compact shape that that particular angle makes.
the bottom piece is a little rough around the edges, but the composition is solid and your hue discrimination is great. also love that visor highlight, that's just nicely done :D

Date: 2018-12-13 02:00 pm (UTC)I really like sketchy drawings the most (which probably means I should do them more)
And yeah I wanted to clean Mag up a bit later on and later on never came xD you probably know the feeling

yeah, that's a mood. although for me it's usually that i lose interest at some point between the lineart being done and all the shading/lighting being done. or i stop working for the night and when i come back to it it somehow looks 100x worse? and i abandon it.
trying to do less of that though!

Date: 2018-12-14 06:26 am (UTC)Oh yeah, keeping and nurturing the interest and motivation is so hard. ;A; The only reason I usually don't lose it is cause my art doesn't take long cause I have no complex shading or coloring going on or anything (plus the tracing used to save a lot of time when it came to the outline).
You can do it :D Keep working on things and don't think too much on how it looks. A finished work is better than an abandoned one ;)
