Since I like Advent Calendars I lot I wanted to take the chance to talk about the one my mom gave me this year. To anyone who doesn't know what an Advent Calendar is, it's something like this:



Usually it's filled with chocolate, but it can be filled with pretty much everything from small toys or things to pictures. It can take pretty much any shape, too, the most important thing is that it has 24 things for you to uncover.



These can be made yourself or bought in a store. Mine I get from my mom each year, because my mom is amazing like that. This time she asked if I wanted one at all and I really didn't, because I don't care much for chocolate but I told her that if they had something for cats or with socks in store I'd take that. Though I didn't really care if I had an advent calendar this year or not.

AND MY MOM WENT AND MADE ME ONE WITH SOCKS! :D It's not the prettiest but I love it.



It's so so much fun to open each little gift this time, especially since it's one sock per day and not a pair. I'm ridiculously happy once I get a pair and in fact I'm wearing my very first matching pair today.

The last two years I made digital fandom advent calendars on AO3 with simple fanart and short ficlets. Hopefully I can do those again in the coming years, because it's nice to see people enjoy them.

I haven't opened it yet, so I'm not sure. We usually do it right before bed because they're all decaf teas. :)

YES PLEASE! I want to know what's inside an advent calendar for cats. :D Next year I'll do one for my two kitties. This year they get a tall climbing and scratching post (or whatever it's called in english ._.)

We've got two kitties, as well! Zell and Kiba, cute things. They had an older brother, Zack, but he passed away a while ago ;A;

Awww that's too bad about Zack :( May he rest in peace. It's always hard when pets die (I legit cried for three days straight and mourned for weeks when my cat passed and I hadn't even been living with her for years)

We had him for 9 years, and the one who was hurting the most, was my kid, who chose the little kitten to start with >.<

Yeah that's imaginable :( Idk how old your kid is but Zack was probably almost as old as them.

Same here. Life wouldn't be the same without cats or pets <3 Do you have any more pets beside your cats?

My kid, Leon, got Zack when he was... what, eight years old. Zack died when he was 16, which was last year. Like, Leon loved Zack as much as I did... it was his kitten, you know?

Nah, we've got two cats, lol, and they are adorable. A third pet wouldn't be advisable, considering our home. We live in a flat, so two cats is what we manage for now.

When older, though

that's when we'll have hens, goats and a dozen fat, happy and lazy cats

Aww that's so sad :( cats just become part of the family. I only had my cats for about a year now and I already worry about stuff happening to them. They're my babies <3 (And they're indoor cats so it's not like they are in a lot of danger!)

Yeah agreed. I always think about maybe adopting a third cat but eh The Prince is already so jealous and my flat is just about enough for them.

Zack was my baby, and I still miss him. But, that's a part of life, I'm afraid >:

Cuties! And, yeah. Zell and Kiba are indoor-cats now. Zack would go out when he wanted, but I'm afraid of letting my new kitties out because the vet thinks Zack was poisoned. So, being safe rather than sorry, you know?

...I dunno about a farm, but I'm tots gonna get rich and buy a castle, and fill it with wild horses (well, its grounds, not the castle, lol) and a bunch of chickens and exactly TWO goats. And cats. Did I mention cats?

Well if it's a castle I'm pretty sure the entry hall would be big enough for a couple of horses, too ;D Damn having a castle would be SWEET! Filled with cats is just the cherry on top!

a shitty neighbour, I guess. We don't trust the bastards anymore, because I swear I had to put up several notices on the doors about NOT feeding the cats, or giving them water/milk during summer due to diet, sigh
